FL Trans Excellence... Right under our noses

We are SO proud to launch our Artist Spotlight series, "FL Trans Excellence... Right under our noses" honoring Central Florida’s vibrant trans and BIPOC creators who are already shaping culture, movement, and resistance through their craft most of all, through their joy. These are transgender artists in Florida, facing political pressures and oppression, choosing instead to take up space and build sanctuary through art. We stick to our commitment to them as individuals and artists We provide them a Sanctuary so they can be ours.

Charlie Adonis

Puerto Rican Trans Musician | Storyteller | One-Transman Band

Charlie Adonis (he/they) is a powerhouse Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist based in Central Florida. Blending jazz, soul, and alternative textures, Charlie creates deeply emotional soundscapes that speak to identity, resilience, and joy. His music isn’t just performance—it’s refuge.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Charlie found sanctuary in sound at a young age, learning guitar and saxophone as tools of expression before he had language for his trans identity. Now, years later, he’s living his truth boldly and vulnerably on every stage.

At Ripple Hauxs, we’re proud to uplift Charlie as a core artist AND newly voted in board member** in our sanctuary space—where he receives:

Paid performance and teaching opportunities

  • Access to free space and wellness resources

  • A platform to develop his sound, story, and movement-building artistry

A one-transman band, Charlie performs live with vocals, guitar, and saxophone, crafting intimate performances rooted in queer truth and collective healing.

"I’m not just building a career—I’m helping create a world where others like me can feel seen and heard." — Charlie
